Our story
Ollie's® opened in 1985, and we've been making fresh frozen custard at the window ever since.
What is frozen custard?
Frozen custard is a lot like ice cream, with two big differences. It's made with egg yolk, which gives it a rich, smooth taste. And it's churned slowly with very little air, so it's thick and dense.
We make ours fresh in small batches all day long and serve it soon after it's made. That's why it tastes so creamy. Custard that sits in a freezer for days just isn't the same.
Frozen custard got its start on Coney Island in the early 1900s and became a Midwest favorite. In Sycamore, it's been Ollie's since 1985.
